Q: What tie spacing do I use with SuperTie?
A: There is no specific tie spacing required by any of the SuperTie Systems. Tie selection and pattern is determined by several factors, including (but not exclusively) concrete temperature and pour rate. RJD recommends adhering to a 2:1 safety factor, as suggested by the American Concrete Institute, so our SuperTie (Light, 6000 pound ultimate strength) System, should be installed so that it is loaded to no more than 3000 pounds. For example, if using “standard” concrete – that will support it’s own weight after one hour – and a pour rate of no more than 5 feet per hour -- a tie spacing of 24” on-center, both horizontal and vertical, will cause a load of 3000 pounds on the tie.

Q: Can I get SuperTie in colors to match my concrete?
Yes. While most of what we stock is in a light gray color, we can make the rod with pigments so that it can match common concrete pigments quite well. Small quantities of commonly requested colors are often on hand (Tan, White, Black). If you require another color, please call with your requirements. Of course, cost is determined by quantity required, and 4 to 6 weeks leads time will be needed to make special colors.
